Tsutamoto Daiki
「時間の痕跡」を主題に、時代を超えて残存しうる仮説的な遺物の姿を探っている。
実在しない文明や存在を想起させる造形は、ゲームやアニメ、特撮といったサブカルチャーに培われた集合的想像力を起点とし、それらを金属という長期的な時間に耐える素材へと変換することで、虚構を物質として定着させる。
色上げや腐食による表面表現は、制作された現在と想定される過去との時間的距離を撹乱し、虚構と歴史の境界を曖昧にする。
そこに示されるのは、時間の堆積というフィクションを纏った、もうひとつの文明の痕跡である。
My work explores the form of hypothetical artifacts that could endure across time, taking “traces of time” as its central theme.
The sculptural forms evoke imaginary civilizations and entities, drawing on collective imaginations cultivated through games, animation, and tokusatsu. By translating these fictional images into metal—an enduring material capable of withstanding long spans of time—the work fixes fiction as material presence.
Surface treatments such as patination and corrosion disrupt the temporal distance between the moment of production and an assumed past, blurring the boundary between fiction and history.
What emerges is the trace of another civilization, clad in the fiction of accumulated time.
